Yeah, KC etc were popular among NS fans back in the day, even though they were "mainstream". There were a few like that.

It's got that classic northern wailing background vocals :-) The Jelly Beans had a few records that were big on the NS scene, however the flip side to "You Don't Mean Me No Good" is also excellent - a lovely mid-tempo number. Try this:

Last one from me tonight. This is fantastic, it just drips soul from the northern climes. Worth a few plays .... it has the simple and well-delivered backing vocals that is so often a hallmark of northern soul.
