A little memory from the Aldwych if I may.
Arrived to find lots of large men in overcoats whispering into their wrists and with wiggly plastic wires in their ears. Mrs DB and I had tickets inspected very closely!

Lights went out 2 minutes before curtain and lots of shuffling around with these large men in the darkness.
Curtain up followed by announcement of welcome to Mr Caper Weinberger who was the then US Sec. Of Defence.
Asked to keep our seats at the end while this little guy dwarfed by his bodyguards was escorted out. Forgotten the play but never forgotten the occasion.
Normal service may be resumed...
