Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Sharkie’s blog promted me to look back at my blog from 10 years :-o ago:

What a fabulous day! The highlights (I'm sure I have forgotten some!) included:
1. Meeting lots of fetchies at Tower Bridge and having a brief briefing.
2. Tower Bridge raising up just before we started.
3. Mcgoohan ordering perfect sunny weather.
4. Running 15.4 miles criss-crossing the Thames with Becca7 for company. The miles felt like they flew by.
5. Becca's sense of direction and notes for the tricky bits.
6. London looking it's glorious best for us.
7. Running past a glamorous woman in the last mile who said well done girls. Becca turned to say thank you, then I heard "especially you B". I turned to see Sharkie, a lovely surprise and she joined us in the pub!
8. Reaching the final bridge, big smiles all round.
9. Veggie burger and chips.
10. The Fetch gathering in the pub was excellent, got to catch up with most people there at some point. Fetchies are all lovely - FACT!
11. The medals. McGoohan had played them down, but they were awesome in their BluePeterinspiredhandmadespecialness.
12. McGoohan's poem and vanity press stories.
13. Meeting lots of people in that real life place who I talk to on a daily basis in this place. That really was the best bit. heart
14. No Sunday long run, it's done!

Big thanks to McGoohan for the idea, organisation, medals and all round good blokeness

I’m feeling a bit sad I won’t be there, but I am seeing other people I don’t often get to see. If they have to change plans (not impossible) I will come up - though will not be running 15.5 miles like I did 10 years ago. :)
