For a few years since I got it free in a race goody bag I have found that Ladival suncream provides the best protection for me and not had prickly heat using it. I’m finding it harder and harder to get now and I just found on eBay but over and above the £40 they wanted £62 shipping costs. I’m not prepared to pay that so wondering if any fetchies suffered prickly heat and found a suncream that worked against it. TIA |

I have suffered prickly heat in the past. When on August overseas hols I always used to need antihistamines to calm the symptoms (with the downside that it made me quite drowsy!) Recently I've used p20 (factor 50) and it seems OK for me. Savers do it. I have one of their stores locally.... savers.co.uk But I'm sure it'll be widely available elsewhere. |

I am still quite sensitive to UV after having treatment for four years to stop a rather stupid UV allergy. I use Neutrogena high SPF creams, particulaly these, plus an aerosol that I keep in my holf bag for rapid top-ups. I love it - it's non-gloopy and has given me my outdoor lifestyle back, quite literally. I buy them on ebay.

LG, I didn't actually know that a sun protection cream could reduce prickly heat. I get it and also have allergies to dust, some types of pollen, some animal hairs etc, so I'm on cetirizine hydrochloride anti histamine all the time too. I might try out Ness and Jenny's recommendations too and see if they help. Just a bit of sun at the weekend and I was all bumps and itching! Cheers, G |

I suffer really bad from prickly heat when on holiday. Someone told me to use medicated soap for a week before going away, and whilst away - it hasn't cured it but has made it less infuriating.
