Kiss Me Under The Mussiletoe
Think its missing maybe a Mark Cavendish, Lizzie Deignan or Tom Pidcock from the list. Maybe also a Lewis Hamilton or either of the Kenny's could have been selected. Wasn't there another swimmer who picked up a load of medals too?
Sterling seems an odd choice as he's not had the best year individually and just fits the must have a footballer choice mould. Can't think of a deserving individual in any of the main team games.

I would say I follow most sport and watched a lot of Olympics and have no idea who the last two are Mussiletoe
Muir would have been nominated if she had won the gold I think.

No Rory Burns?
I would agree with the sentiment, a must watch has now become a must avoid.
Rad will win, easily. My money’s on this year being the only Grand Slam and SPOTY of her career.

Really surprised that few people have mentioned Sarah Storey. She has had an amazing year, 2 golds both by a country mile , at the age of 44, she has been winning medals since Barcelona!
I would vote for her with Peaty a close second. But I'm sure Emma will get it. Shame she won't be there

Storey had my vote a few pages back. Exceptional performances in both cycling & swimming over a long career - and, as Humbugteddy writes, keeps on hitting gold.

I was thinking Sky Brown for the Young SPOTY until I realised how young Jude Bellingham was and what he has achieved already in Germany and over here.

So we know the Lifetime Achievement Award has gone to Usain Bolt and the World Sport Star of the Year (previously Overseas Personality) is Lionel Messi. Any thoughts on the main award?
I'm going to go for: 1. Ben Stokes 2. Beth Mead 3. Eve Muirhead or Jessica Gadirova
I'll be very surprised if anyone other than the England Lionesses wins the team award.
