Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Every year I watch with utter awe and a sense of gratitude that I am not crazy enough to try this race!

Has the winner just finished? John Kelly?

I see Debs Martin Consani is in 2nd place in women's race (known to many of us in Scottish and UK ultra running in this website). Go Debbie! :-) G

He finished late last night HG.

A small part of me would love to do that race - I remember my grandfather talking about the Pennine way, and as a 6 or 7yo I dreamed of walking it with him. Was unrealstic even then given his age and level of walking fitness, but it lasts as a thought.

One of the nicest things about doing West Highland Way and even Glasgow to Edinburgh ultras as point to point 100 mile (nearly) and 50 mile (more than) routes was the thought of being able to say to grandkids, "Aye lad/ss, I ran that in 22 / 8 hours back in the day!"

Spine is another level (or two) above that again, on almost every measure - distance, days, difficulty and weather. Yuck! Hence such amazing respect for all. :-) G

It's just totally mental. I managed to see the coverage of the first two finishers on Facebook as they kissed the wall. Remarkably coherent interviews, given what they had been through! .
