Lord Trent, aka Jessie Boot of Chemists fame. He gave the land to the university, his factory occupies a couple of square miles about 1/4 mile behind us. The inscription reads "Before him lies a monument to his industry, behind him lies a monument to his benevolence." Looks like he enjoyed linedancing.

I used to drink in Blackfriars Bar, mind it was 1975. Did teacher training at the Boston Boys GS. I was told that one lad wouldn't be in my lessons because he was helping with the harvest and that would be his career.
