Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

North East Marathon Club take your pick of marathons (or halfs) for £21, £19 athletics membership, £17 NEMC member I am sure last I checked. Ok laps or trails often so no road closure issues.

Popped round the Pentland Skyline route today, such a fab day for it :) Skipped Castlelaw as red flag was indeed flying.

Bone dry underfoot over most of it, not a burn to be seen either. Pretty parched at end.

Tempted by the race in October, looks very popular (for a hill race!) but assume not an instant sell out. Anyone done it?

Yip. Toughest race I've done. Well, most intense. But I'm not a good hill runner. I've done longer and I've done faster, but I haven't done more climb in such a short distance and attempting to got at a pace! Enjoy! :-) G

Should be compulsory for anyone who lives in or near Edinburgh though - it's *the* best route! :-) G

Some nice positive words there G :) I think I was a bit surprised just how relentless the ups and downs were - they’re not massive, just .. never ending :). It’s a fab route though, agree.

Expect October weather in Edinburgh could be just about anything, of course. Day like today might be a wee bit optimistic ;)

Maybe one day. Definitely not a hill runner though. Well, I have done Devil’s burdens twice but that’s it.

16 peaks in 16 miles zp, it's really never flat, is it?! And the race order has the harder, steeper climbs in the second half - so cruel!

Was horizontal sleet on first few tops the year that IanS and I were doing it. Cleared up by the finish though. I ran those tops for 10 years and absolutely love the area. Just not doing all 16 of them in one go! :-) G
