That's a bit shitty

Surely if you're thinking about an ultra, you want more than 9 weeks notice to train???

I did think it was pretty short notice but these days there's a cohort of ultranutters who are ready to go - in particular a load of GO33ers. Besides, you can always stop for a nice sit down: recommendations on the minimum equipment list include a camping chair and a table tea.

Interesting, it sounds like a mini Glenmore 24, very similar lap length. I won't make it because I'm doing this with shanksi, WKP and friends :

It will be my first foreign event and it's really hilly which is what I prefer. There's a video on the website.

A fake number? How did they do that? Photocopy a real one?

A lot of races have the chip in the number now. Couldn't easily fake that. And even if the chip is separate, that again can't be photocopied. In this era of chipped races, how is it even possible to have a duplicate number? (And as I've said, feel sorry for any upset caused to MN. Especially if it kicked off in social media, as these things are wont to do. Hugs ((())) :-) G

It was an old number from a previous race- in these local races the numbers are fairly plain and similar, so scrunch it up a bit and pin it on and you can't tell without closer examination.

No chip so no time, but I don't think the individual was bothered about an official result, just being able to run the race (and take the medal and food afterwards...)
The number happened to be the same as mine, and that may in fact be part of the reason he was caught, as my hubby was taken poorly at the finish so they had to trace me down by race number when I crossed the line to tell me, so the number was clear in the race organiser's head.

Luckily because it was chipped, I have my result and it hasn't affected me
