Happy New Year!

I'm a bit annoyed I never entered Portobello as I didn't drink too much last night and actually feel ok. Oh well, I suppose there's no excuse not to send myself out for a wee new year jog anyway then :)

Happy New Year! Fairly perfect running conditions at Party this morning and managed to do a faster pace than recent Parkrun. Seemed a smaller crowd than I've seen in recent years but could be wrong

Maybe it was down to having no entries on the day, thus excluding those who woke up and were surprised to find themselves not pished ;-) ?

Made it to the Strathie, in bed around 0330 after just a couple of drinks; said HNY to a few people *waves to Happy Times* and ran pretty well.

After standing about though, when I went for a cooldown I was like the tin man.

The race was full on Entry Central - all 400 places taken I believe.

I haven`t done the race since they moved the start/finish and it always seemed busier when it was at the Seafield end and parking was a bit of a challenge right enough. Seems a lot better now, especially if it was a bigger entry

I do think its a pity that it is harder and harder to decide to do a race on the day/day before and get an entry. On the other hand, and from a race orgainsers point of view, pre-entry only is so much less trouble
