They've said there's lots of branches down already and decided even if it looks at ground-level tomorrow that everything is fine there's likely to be lots of branches balancing on trees and ready to fall on runners. That seems a sensible approach. Whenever I see a reporter stood near stood in a gale I want the person in the studio to ask 'If you're saying non-essential travel should be avoided, why are you stood there?'
