Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I’ve done WoL three times. Mixed views on it. It’s under different organisation now that will help.

It’s been organised by Blast Running for the last few years. I’ve run it a few times under their regime I never did it before that. IMHO it’s a well organised fun event on a unique route. If you’re doing it this year you’ll have the pleasure of passing me at the Sandport Street bridge where I am marshalling.

Does the marathon go there and back, or do they just start much further upstream? (Or elsewhere, I'm not sure how long the Water of Leith actually is.)

There's not much more WoL above Balerno so can't see how they can do it except out and back. Leith to Balerno and back down would make most sense? Enjoy. :-) G

The marathon starts at the end. Goes to the start and then turns around to come back the way they came. The WoL is probably about 14 miles long in total if you start at the very source in the Pentlands and then go to the very end at Leith Docks.
