Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

A question for Moray-based peeps. Can anyone recommend an insurance broker in Elgin or surrounds for motor? I’ve just tried to get a quote from my home insurance people - NFU, but no dice because I don’t have a job. I stressed that buying the car will enable me to travel to work and they double-checked, but no.

Tell them you're retired not jobless? I'm not based in Scotland but in 8 years of being "retired" I've never had a problem getting quotes from either the on-line comparison sites or brokers (in the case of my camper). Adding some business cover yesterday to cover some part-time consultancy work I'm doing made no difference and my overall status is still "retired" with some p/t work.

Thanks folks and I did wonder about saying that Finn. Too late now with my home provider, although one of my previous work pension providers contacted me recently as I’d forgotten I set the retirement age at 60, so it would be truthful and I’d just change it when I get a job.

Good thing I didn't sign up as I discovered it was Sunday I'm working rather than Saturday!
