Another childhood legend passes away.
Brian Cant said that people [now in their 40-50's] used to go up to him to thank him for their early years. Fond memories.

Very sad - he was a huge part of my childhood, I loved Playaway - it was a weekend highlight.

Decent age. I was a big fan. I wrote him a letter when I was about 18 and thought I was going to uni in Australia (and hence would never have contact with Great Britain ever again? Folly of youth) to say thank you for all the great programmes.
Bizarrely, they played a song by him on Radio 6 last night. I thought, "That singer sounds just like Brian Cant." But obviously it couldn't be. And it was. Then they said it was in memory of the late Brian Cant. I was somewhat taken aback RIP.

Like so many people, he voiced my childhood - a sad loss, but lives on through the dvds I've got for my kids.
