I turned in it, didn't have to but seemed rude not to.

It's a very strange notice. If you happen to have driven up to it by mistake, what are you supposed to do? Just stay there forever because you're not allowed to turn?

Perhaps you should just keep moving and take out their porch?

My sister's neighbour has one of these signs - I always make a point of turning in his driveway. Especially when I'm on foot. One day my sister was trying to turn a van around in their very narrow street and he deliberately moved his car to the end of his driveway so that she couldn't use it.

If I need to turn round and have a choice between a 'no turning' drive and one with no sign I always pick the no turning one.

I hope it was gravel, and that you dumped the clutch to get a nice wheelspin and deposit gravel all over the immaculately manicured lawn.

Having lived on a busy road, I did park my car so that people couldn't use it to turn in. Just drive another 300 yards and go round the block! Taxi drivers used to take the proverbial and it was very distracting having full headlights drive towards you while watching the telly!
