Went to the shop and on way back saw bloke pulled over with a cat in his arms and concerned onlookers. He hadn't hit the cat but apparently cat was wandering in the road, rolling in front of the cars and seemed a bit daft/lost and bloke had nearly hit it. We went home to get him a carrier as he intended to take cat to be scanned for a chip in the morning. Then someone else pulled over to see if we were stealing the cat as apparently it lives on the street and is a pedigree.
Bloke wanted to take cat to his house and return it in daylight so he has gone off with catto in our carrier. He promised to return the carrier in the morning. I'm guessing owner will be pissed off but catto had been carried around by a stranger for 15 mins by the time we found out it was local so fuck knows what it would have done had we released and left it. I have his reg no in case he doesn't return. Not for the carrier but because if he does fuck off then he may be a cat thief.

Fingers crossed he stays well.
I fear I've reached the curmudgeonly old woman stage where I'm often more interested in pets than owners. The kids and I refer to houses on our estate by the names of the pets that live there rather than the humans!!!
