Freddie (resident dog) is passed out on the sofa. Rory is on my lap, which is unusual for being in a strange house, but I think he’s surviving. He just looks a bit worried.

I saw a woman half jump over a fence on a horse earlier at Ascot. She flew out of the saddle, literally, and hung on for dear life and managed to get back in the saddle and continue the race. There were 4 horses in the race, one fell at the first and she came in a close second. Brilliant horsewomanship. :)

I just watched the first of 3 of the big local firework displays from my bedroom window. Other fireworks have now resumed.

I went upstairs to watch the last set of fireworks, they were very pretty and noisy.

Lots of fireworks here, the scouts just up the hill always do a big display, but the dog wasn't bothered. I think she's missing my sister's dog.

I think I might have some muesli and then head off to bed.

I had to pause my yoga session due to a brief flurry of very local fireworks. The dog was a bit nervous but I put on some music and sang to him. He settled fairly quickly once they were done.

Still none here. But then, it isn't actually the 5th yet, is it?

I have replaced the batteries in the TV remote.

The old ones were flat, so it wasn't working.
