Of course my patients can see my feet, Hellen. What do you think I do for a living?

dont you sit with feet under desk? I suppose you have to get up to examine though! Do you wear proper smart work clothes with inov8 or casual?

I sit on the same side of the desk as my patients, Hellen. So my feet are in full view. And walk in and out of the room to fetch them from the waiting room.
From the ankles up, I dress quite smartly in the summer and like a hillwalker in the winter. If I'm wearing a skirt or dress, I replace the trainers with some very forgiving black sandals.

There are plenty of shoes Hellen that you can wear that don't even look like trainers but are very much better for your feet. Just make sure you buy ones that are wide enough. You may have narrow feet because they are scrunched up and you are just used to seeing them that way! The idea is to get them to spread naturally and see how you get on with that. Definitely try some on. There are VIVO outlets at quite a few shops now but it isn't limited to VIVO of course.

Ian, I have had narrow feet since I was a child, always dreaded the tip to clarks as nothing I liked fitted!
What are the benefits of the VIVO shoes?

Hellen, VIVO shoes are more foot shaped and allow your feet to spread naturally. Lots of others do too. Merrel I hear are quite good. Some NewBalance trainers and some Innov8 too are good. But it depends on how wide your feet are naturally. The only way to tell how wide or narrow your feet are is to measure them without shoes and socks on, taking fully bodyweight stood still.

I quite liked the look of some of those VIVO work shoes, just wondered what was special about them though as they are quite expensive.

To answer your earlier question, it hasn't stopped me running and I don't think running has made it much worse. I seem to be lucky as I don't get much pain, if any. I just have that horrible lump near the toes that feels like a stone in my shoe.

I get that when walking but not when running , have just been for a run and have kept my trainers on and it feels better in trainers than in my work shoes
