I have seen voles drag a while leek under ground They are buggers for eating large seeds, so all my large seeds are now germinated in 9 cm pots on the high shelf of the greenhouse, out of reach of rodents...

Does anybody know of alternatives to newspaper for making the kind of pots that break down in the soil? I can't go to see my dad because of the lockdown (he's 91), and he is my only source of newspaper.
I like to start the runner beans and French beans in the greenhouse in paper pots.

I've noticed all the beautiful flowers out everywhere over the last couple of weeks, all the May flowers. I'm wondering what we'll have left in the gardens to flower next month.

They’re indoors in pots mind. Next week or so they’ll go to the greenhouse for hardening (still getting frosts here) and then out to the bamboo sticks a couple of weeks after. Is the plan.

I planted some in pots this week and they are on the barn windowsills, nothing happening yet but like you AC much too early anyway to go outside yet. Exciting though!
