I hope we continue to all get good news. Good luck to all for future progress. I'm expecting to hear about an infusion again this month.

Have had a call from the doctors today about my bones. They have improved and no longer osteoporosis but not osteopenia - so they are slightly stronger and treatment has helped. Just waiting to hear from bones department direct now but happy bunny here 😁 |

Hello All, new to this thread as a recent x-ray showed osteopenia in a couple of bones in my foot and I've been googling like crazy ever since, as you do ![]() I am a 55 year old post menopausal woman on the chunky side although a lot less so since I returned to running and lost 30kg. I have hideous pain in my big toe joint which I thought was probably due to a horse leaping sideways and landing on my foot in lockdown but the x-ray revealed absolutely no signs of any breaks from that just the osteopenia which seems oddly contradictory. I am guessing the osteopenia has set in since the horse leaping episode. Anyway I am being referred for an MRI and to the Rheumatology clinic. I'm guessing the MRI is to look for further cause for the foot pain because the osteopenia doesn't explain that and the Rheumatology appointment is for the osteopenia, will let you know how it goes. I don't think I'm entirely lactose intolerant but I do have to limit how much milk/yoghurt/cheese I consume as I end up with very lose stools so can I get the chewable calcium tablets over the counter while I am waiting for appointments or should I just wait? |

Hello - We spend rather similar in a lot of ways. My big toe is so painful a lot of the time. I have calcium tablets from the doctor and they don't upset my very dairy effected tummy - am like you and have to limit my intake |

Hi Mandymoo, we do sound similar. My naughty toe has reduced me from running half marathons to sticking with 10ks but half marathon is my preferred distance so would really like to get some relief if possible ![]() |

oops, not sure what happened there, tried to tag @Mandymoo and it just posted. Anyway I wanted to ask how you are getting on with your special insoles. I have stalked you a bit to see what other similarities there were and I spotted the blog about your podiatrist visit. I've also been told I'm knock kneed and need hideously expensive insoles, I thought I would try off the shelf ones first but I thought I'd ask if they are working for you? |
