Look at me asking for advice again :). Well the cold I thought I had following the old cotton bud up the nostril routine turns out to be Covid. It is very very mild - just a fever and a head cold with a cough. So this begs the question - I know the above the neck stuff but my previous Covid adventure gave me a cough for a few weeks that I am keen not to miss running for if possible - when/how/if can I return to training? I will listen to my body (so probably not training for the next few days). All advice gratefully received and I am 5 days into COVID and hoping this is as bad as it gets. Thanks all Peter |

Snap I also thought originally a bad cold but Covid and on the same time frame 5 days in but I feel awful today like a step backwards so be careful. I would think in my own case I am hoping for the weekend but go by your vital signs RHR etc and go easy. Hope it stays this way for you. |

A long time since anyone posted here. My post COVID struggle continues. Following COVID infection in 2020 my physical ability dropped. Full heart CT scans etc, lung tests, exercise stress tests and being involved with COVID specialist consultant has been useful because my symptoms have been identified as being a result of COVID and it has altered my autonomic nervous response to exercise and recognised as long COVID. Have been on medication trial for ten weeks which will be regularly reviewed. I've improved slightly from being only able to run for twenty seconds to being able to run continuously for two minutes now! This is weird stuff having been able to run continuously at a decent pace for two hours before COVID. I'm told there is no guarantee of a complete "cure" but whatever, I'll continue with what has become a new regime if I have to ... that's run/ walking and still getting fair miles a month . |

I see that you've done a 17 miler! Top stuff and if you can do that on your own outside of the excitement of an event then you're pretty well prepared.

I've just been reading an account by Matt Fitzgerald, co founder of 80/20 endurance and author of "On Pace". Seems he experiences the same unfortunate post COVID symptoms that I do.
