The wife went and had a kinesiology session for food intolerances has anyone else tried this? It seems to me that it is a bit new age ( I don't understand it) but does it work or is it hippy stuff? Please let me know. 😁

The hippies got plenty of stuff right. But this is one of those things they got waaaay wrong ![]() It's an alternative medicine which means there is no scientific basis for it to work at all. So if you are ok with alternative medicines, crack on - otherwise I'd give it a swerve. |

It's a total load of bollocks from the land where bollocks was invented, probably by a professor of bollocks studies. A chap I used to work with spent money on this bollocks and we were all incredulous because he was a scientist. Clearly not a very clever one ![]() quackwatch.com But if you tell your wife this and she believes in it she won't believe you... |

Hmmm I detect an element of doubt in your response. 😀

I know, I'm really on the fence here ![]() But the placebo effect is stronger than most drugs, if that makes people happy then whatever ![]() |

Food intolerances do exist but not to the extent claimed by people to sell you stuff, it is amazing what autosuggestion can do rationalwiki.org

I think Fleecy is on the right track, people don't realise how strong the placebo effect is, which is great for people that want to sell unproven therapies.

My dad found kinesiology many years ago when he had ME. He was disillusioned with the medical profession who did not diagnose him correctly for ages. He found it very helpful and he changed his diet significantly as a result which was good for him - I maintain a healthy scepticism.
