That's pretty much how I write numbers by hand and that's how they are taught in Germany in primary school. I remember practice sheets like this one in grade 1. I think you use a single stroke 1 instead of the 1 she's writing but I wasn't aware of 5 and 9 being written differently. This said, I didn't teach maths in the UK, I taught languages
