Venom: The Last Dance

Against my better judgement choice as the last one was rubbish. This one was all over the place to be frank, and the McGuffin Exposition was particularly cursory and context-free.

However there were some fairly whimsical and bizarre elements thrown into the mix and I laughed a few times. I wouldn't exactly recommend it but it passed the time on a grey afternoon.

I couldn't tell you what the plot was of 1 and 2 but I seem to remember enjoying them at the time - though I did have the lowest of expectations.

Since Yesterday was a bit of a nostalgia fest, for me at least.. for context I was living in Edinburgh in the late '70's and through the '80's and going to see a lot of live music at the time. The earliest bands were before my time but I'd seen most of the 70's and '80's bands, mostly as support acts to male bands that were around at the time. Why didn't they make it big ? Well they got stuffed the way a lot of rising bands do, the money disappeared into record company coffers, bad management, naivety and record labels who didn't support them because they didn't want to go with the look or sound that the label thought was commercial. But because they were female, there was a serving of misogyny on top. Also they were young women so some got pregnant and pregnancy/being a mum did not go with a career in the music business. The later bands of the '90's and later came along after I'd moved out of the city and had lost touch with the live music scene (and was concentrating on being a dad) . Bringing it up to the present day, female/non binary bands are working in a different music industry and trying to be supportive in a different environment. The film was a very enjoyable 90 minutes if you think you'd like that sort of thing.

Great review SoaPMan. Thanks!

Venom 3, Tom H, you are better than this, please stop?

Did you see his red carpet interview where some Marvel fan-person asked "Will you be emotional at end of Venom movies?"

Tom H: "No. NO!" Incredulous look! :-) G

I believe this one is subtitled "The Last Dance" because Hardy has said that he's not doing any more. I think he had a good time with the first one (and it was pretty good to be fair) but after that it's very much been law of diminishing returns/going through the contractually obligated motions I think.

Back from The Apprentice.

I didn't like it overly much. I got bored and fidgeted a lot. I'm not really sure what it was for.

It’s not as if Trump’s foulness and criminality isn’t well known.
