Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Has anybody else heard that the GFA is changing this year? they appear to have removed qualifying times off the website and will announce some time next week (after the ballot opens - doesn't make sense really). I am a little disappointed but at the same time thinking it will mean I can just run Manchester on Sunday to how I feel cos the 3:50 GFA target was very touch and go anyway.

Nelly
It's been discussed in the sub 3:15 marathon thread, probably because 3.10 and 3.15 are the under 40 and under 60 male GFA levels.

Ahhh thats good to know Sarah. I did wonder Nelly whether they would tinker with the ladies times, its a broad age range and I wouldn't necessary class myself as gfa but here I am going for it. Can't wait to see what they do.

Indicates that for M40 it will go to under three hours which apparently it was a few years back?

Because British marathon runners are getting so much faster, natch?

Or is it because David Bedford's onto such a good thing with the hundreds of pounds a place he gets from the charities that making fewer places available at 20-odd quid is ideal.

Still, it answers a big question for me. Run lots rather than quickly. Thanks! 3:10 was within my wildest dreams. 3:00 ain't. I'm running for fun again!
