Ah yeah, I had forgotten about that. Keown seemed nervous but van nistelrooy had no issue.

Bazoaxe wrote: Van Nistelrooy conned a penalty out of the referee, got Vieira sent off but then missed a penalty and Keown celebrated right in his face, and that was the photo that all the papers used. That was an odd encounter when van nistelrooy appeared beside keown for a pre match interview. Was there some history between them? Van Nistelrooy appeared to have forgotten all about the whole thing - when asked what he would say when he met Keown, he looked blank and said "Hello?" |

Keown was a devious little shit one of the times we played them and it was basically top vs bottom, but that's how to win. That match above just encapsulated the intensity and rivalry at that time for me. Get off the pitch and it's all done for me so the two emotions you describe above are intriguing - I can't remember if there was needle between them other matches but I expect there were.

I don’t dislike many ex-players (their punditry, yes, but not them). I make an exception for Keown. So often his punditry seems to just be snide settling of old scores that everyone else has forgotten. He also had a short spell at Leicester when we were really struggling financially and he was shit, didn’t want to put the work in and behaved like a primadonna. A five star king of the North Sea Empire if you ask me. Ruud’s a good bloke, though, in a totally unbiased and balanced way.😉 |

When he was at Everton, he earned the nickname 'Keown goal'

Joe and his Everton supporting mate are at Selhurst park this afternoon, will probably be a tight, dull game.

So, we get beat by the worst Premier team for years, but get a point at Villa with us playing fifty-plus minutes with ten men. Makes no sense.

Football is chaos, Fenners. It’s why it’s so compelling.

Whether we stay up or not, Delap is going to leave us. His goal today is yet more proof that he is quality. And United fans may want to look away, Amad is alledgedly out for the rest of the season. |
