I was never a huge Ronaldo fan but my attitude to him changed when I visited Madiera a few years ago. I was talking to a local and mentioned how impressed I'd been with the sports facilities at every school I'd seen on our trip. There are football pitches and great changing facilities across the island. The guy told me that Roanldo had funded a programme to provide the facilities.
He's still a bell-end but he has a sense of community at least
