When and how Gilmour picked up Covid was my initial reaction as I had thought they were in a secure bubble. You have to assume it didnt come from someone else in the party and so has he picked it up from a staff member somewhere that he came into contact with.

Anyway, main question is will Scotland qualify tonight. Its in out own hands and a win of any sort is good enough. I dont think we have ever been in that position before and we always required other results to go our way. Maybe 1974 World Cup which I dont remember, we may have qualified if we had won rather than drawn against either Yugoslavia or Brazil - cant recall the order of games

Potter would be mad to take the Spurs job. I can't see him doing it anyway, he seems to be more of a 'project' man than 'take a job at a big club and take the money' person.

He won't get time at Spurs to turn things around.

For Scotland - shut Modric down. They have other good players, but none who influences games like he does. Do that, the task is over half done already.

Bobzo - had the same conversation with a work buddy just now. If he doesn't want the profile lift I can't see much upside.

That just leaves Mr Holy Spirit, who some are now saying will be like Mourinho only less attack-minded...

Great looking down the list on odds checker. There's easy half a dozen names on there that have in the last few weeks been 'a done deal, announcement imminent' - Poch, Conte, ten Hag, Martinez, Holy Spirit, Mancini, Diego Simeone...

Simeone's now out at 60/1 alongside David Moyes.
