I can't quite say why but the coinage wasn't the killer factor - at the end of the day, if it's going to be a special thing then it'd be worth it. But perhaps I'm completely contradicting myself when I say that a "£20 half marathon, followed by a free-for-all at a nearby venue" type thing would be up my street.

Lovely idea to pick a race which we could all descend on near some accommodation though - maybe we could do that and then have a natter afterwards about we could do to fix up Fetchstock? As for running to and from pubs, it works for us hashers

A Fetch half with social after would still be good.

In summary:

Running (a race, proper course and all that), a bit of running-related stuff like maybe lectures, coaching sessions, physios, a nice dinner, a shedload of isotonic shandy and maybe a dance off and a bit of bare knuckle boxing, bedtime, then some gentler running-based activities the following morning, then maybe lunch.
