Legless - it was in the SWF area (unsurprisingly as I think that's where the brewery is) Or did you mean where was I marshalling? In which case it was the Benfleet 15 but sampled (some) of the Benfleet pubs the night before. Have to say that none of the pubs I have visited in that part of the world strike me as particular 'gems' but perhaps I just don't know where to find them (or perhaps I am just spoilt coming from Suffolk)

Two Towels.
Glugg I Know the pub well, been a few times myself! Very good real ales, and cracking food in there! Do they still do the cheap chilli and pint night on a tuesday?

Ipswich Winter Ales Festival starts on Thursday through to Sunday. Likely to be worth a visit if previous ones are anything to go by

Two Towels. I run to the Victoria at Beeston a couple of times a week on a Friday lunch after work. It's a nice 6 mile run along the canal and around Attenborough nature reserve. The thought of a pint does wonders for my speed training!. I went there last Friday and they had 16 real ales and 2 ciders on. I think the Lion still does the cheap chilli night. Off to the Lincolnshire Poacher again tonight.

Pilgrim Winter Berry was my first pint of the weekend.
Then I toasted a rare Brighton home win with a pint of Dark Star Sussex Extra Stout. A really lovely warming beer, on a cold late afternoon
