One of the ‘Keighley old boys’ once told me about the early days of the (full) YORM when no-one had GPS etc, or apparently ‘knew what a mile was’. They said the original course was 30 miles :-O :-)

I think the YORM half is a decent little race with a killer start :-) That long road stretch doesn't do it any favours, but there's some properly rough ground to cover, I like it a lot. I've just checked GC and my three outings there measured in at 14.7, 14.84 and 14.73 with about 1,750ft of climb

There are a lot on the wannado list, but all depend on getting a weekend away either without dog or with someone who will mind the dog for me, even bigger hurdles than actually being fit enough to do said lumpy up north runs!

Quite a few races on this weekend, anyone partaking? Off the top of my head:

- Tour of Pendle
- Wadsworth Half-Trog
- Harriers v Cyclists
- Littondale Birks

It's the half-trog for me. Last did this in 2016, having done Harriers v Cyclists the day before, had a crap race. Hope to improve.

No, despite having planned on Pendle before ankle-gate :-(

Hoping* to get to Baildon on Sunday as part of W Yorks Winter League (6 races for a tenner 🙂)which I know nothing about but think is more trail/multi-terrain than fell, which is probably better rehab. If it's the usual low turnout I might even end up counting for the club :-o

* if I get through a couple of test jogs first.
