Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Bit of birdsong on my walk home tonight. First blackbird, then great tit chatter. May have been more thrown in too. Oh, and a crow!

Only really noticed robins and great tits until now.

Took next door neighbours’ dogs for a walk and one of them flushed out a male pheasant. Later I saw a female pheasant hop into my neighbours’ garden, look at me watching from the kitchen window and then hop into the bushes all casual-like.

I heard something of a cacophony this morning on my walk into work, not sure what they were, certainly blackbirds bickering, a crow, woodpigeon. Though I was earlier setting off so may have been more of a dawn chorus that I'd normally miss.

Crows are very active. I think Corvids are usually very early in breeding. Lot’s of nesting materials around after the storm.

I saw 12 magpies together at lunchtime today. I don’t know what that signifies- the rhyme only goes up to 7

My run last night passed by what I used to think was a rookery, but I think actually a jackdawery (doubt that's a word but hey ho). I always seem to disturb them when I run past with headtorch on. Ditto last night.
