I had another wander around the patch of woodland below the house today and found at least four singing Chiffs including getting to see two have a right Dunnock style punch-up across two trees! I've never had them down as fisticuff merchants before?

Saw a female swan on her nest with half a dozen eggs today

She started to cover them up with broken reeds as i watched, i don't know if this meant that she had just laid them or if she was about to grab lunch.

Couple of pied wagtails darting across my path on my run today. Also heard and saw a bird singing high up in a branch right next to the beach last night. Quite a complex and varied song. About the size of a starling with a longish tail, brown back feathers and a lighter front. Hard to get a better view as it was mainly in silhouette. Any clues?

Fragile Do Not Bend
Saw a greenfinch on the feeders for the first time in months. The number of chaffinches on the ground around the feeders has increased recently too.

Song thrush it was DT. Thank you :-) I made a little recording on my phone and compared.

I'm such a new birdwatcher that it really helps to be pointed in the right direction.
