At least it explains why I can't sing. It doesn't go with my exceptional good looks 😁

Beautiful birds, redstarts, and always very exciting for me to see as they are pretty rare in the east of the country, where I live.

Heinzster, :).

I saw a small raptor being mobbed by a corvid yesterday but wasn’t sure what it was. My initial thought was merlin, but why hadn’t it just flown away? Today miles away I saw very similar but closer. This raptor was a small male sparrowhawk. I guess when ‘you’re on the pull’ nothing is going to stop you ;)

Saw a mobbing incident myself yesterday, a magpie being chased over some distance by a noisy, clearly angry starling.

Still no swifts and beginning to wonder if the sandwich terns will return this year.

My spot of the day is not exciting, but have worked out why my little bird bath has to be filled each day..... Seven starlings crammed in having a pool party😀😀

What a great Hen Harrier obs!
At last...saw my first three Swifts screaming as they headed west yesterday. Has to be one of my latest "first dates" having had them as early as 17th April before, although more often than not the very end of April-early May.

I don’t record anything but think of swifts being here first week of May

A warbly warbler buried deep in shrubbery today in Skipton: garden warbler I think because it sounded like a blackcap but not entirely if that makes sense. More notes and long bursts but not quite as ripe or plummy nerd

DT, only reliable way of telling the two apart I've found is to gas the bush and see which falls out. :)
