Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Feet have gone soft. Lungs don't seem to want to work.

Basically, unfit.

Copy of an fmail I just sent to Treborstreet:

<I>I've just walked past a bunch of women in red Chelmer Road Runner vests. What's that all about then? Did I miss a memo?

I've never heard of Chelmer Road Runners are they new? Has someone had a falling out with the Striders and started another club (although as I do practically no road running they may have been around for ages but I just haven't encountered them on the trails!)

I'd certainly not heard of them prior to today.

Never even 'eard of 'em! Rude of them not to invite you, Greg, but then would you want to be in a club that was the sort of club that wanted you in it? ;-)

Quite. That's why I play tennis at Old Chelmsfordians. I think I'm seen as a missionary project to spread tennis to the poor and the common.

Does being a member of a tennis club make it clearer why we produce so few decent tennis players? A welcoming and inclusive environment for attracting talent?

Sounds to me exactly like how Mid Essex Casuals started - as a breakaway club when (I believe anyway - its all a bit lost in the mists of time) the committee of Witham *spits* all fell out with each other.

And I think it was a similar story with Suffolk Trail Runners forming after a falling out with Stowmarket Striders.

Good to see some things in running never change....... :-) :-)
