Right, feel like I'm banging on the same drum here. Archer should not have the new bowl. It is a waste of his overs. Either Overton is in the side as a seamer or leave him out and let him put his feet up and bring on a sub.
Archer should be first change bowling express. What a waste of the new ball bowling four short balls an over.

Against us Australia should open with Smith. We seem to mentally disintegrate when he’s at the crease. Chances dropped just one thing.
Root’s bowling decisions and field placings get ever more bizarre and non sensical, TMS have been completely unable to explain ANY rationale for some of them. 9 men on the boundary, giving Smith singles just to get the other bloke on strike when the other bloke is a middle order player not a tailender etc.
If Smith was to open, this would start almost immediately as opposed to when a couple of wickets are down, and they’d have 10 blokes to bat whose only job is to stick around while Smith takes the game away and destroys our morale.

I'd be really interested to see what pace the Aussies get up to when they bowl. Because at the moment, apart from the odd Archer delivery, Broad seems to be the only one to generate any pace. I'd love to know if it's to do with the pitch or the conditions
