Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

It’s a road Osco.

Chelmsford isn’t feee after tea anymore btw - hasn’t been for a couple of years.

If you see pictures don’t be fooled by what appears to be a lot of paying customers - it’s just that there’s a covered stand in the non-members that was half full of members seeking shade.

Full sun on top of the Tom Pearce stand where I sit was so*ding hot so I can’t really blame them.

I can almost guarantee that it won't appear to be a road now that we have lost Renshaw. Horribly reliant on Hilda now. Don't be surprised if Pete Trego gets a few. He's still got it despite not featuring in CC this year.

That sun must have been brutal yesterday until early evening. Lots of tired people!!

When I stopped checking the score last night, Notts were 300 odd for 1.

Lost 4 wickets for 2 runs. Can't be much fun coming out to bat under lights against that pink ball?

I haven't got the hang of the pink ball yet. It looks from a distance like one of those (just about) 'no pads required' practice balls.

Interestingly, they are using the Kookaburra ball in div 1 and normal Dukes in Div 2 for these games. Might make a difference too

You have to dig bloody deep to get good info on CC cricket usually, but this nugget was in the Guardian coverage.

Well done The Guardian and indeed you then.

I sometimes think I'm the only person left alive that actually cares about the championship. People seem more interested in limited overs stuff and/or these so-called 'internationals'.

It's actually alive and reasonably well in this part of the world BUT one day matches are still better attended by about four fold I should think.

Incidentally I was successful in the ballot for a local match at the World Cup next year. What do you mean Bangladesh vs West Indies won't be a sell out? I should think entertainment guaranteed!! I am glad they have told me a whole year in advance though...

There are a few of us more interested in the Championship, bit of a pain really as Hants are far better at the pyjama stuff...
