Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Lancs and Essex were probably the favourites for relegation, not that Lancs are clear yet.

Mysterious typing error on the BBC website:

"Essex were without Ryan ten Doeschate in the final session, the skipper having left to return to South Africa for family reasons".

They meant Holland. Obviously.

Presumably one of his parents? Must be serious if he had to leave part way through an important game.

Not good at all. No statement from the club that I've spotted, and Tendo isn't exactly vocal on Twitter.

Looks like the BBC statement came from Essex CC originally.

Gloat away old son. No complaints here.

My attention is focused on hoping for a solid week of rain. A draw is far more use to us than it is to Lancashire.

And congratulations to 'my' club (I'm a social member) Springfield CC on finishing runners up in the T.Rippon Mid-Essex premier division. Happy days at The Cora.

No complaints here from a Bear; Notts were very good indeed and deserved the win (and let's face it, ABS and ABH for the T20 title ;) )

I'm very plesaed how the new Bears line-up is looking; should be an excellent team in a year or three. I see that Porterfield is off at the end of the season as he can't get a run or a game. Not sure what this says about Ireland as a Test-playing nation...
