Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

That's brilliant progress panad, well done :) Best to just take it a bit slower. You should be able to hold a conversation.

Haven’t been for a run since 20th August last year but have decided to get back on it and have been out for my second run this afternoon! Feeling good and enjoying it even though it’s tough after not having been for such a long time! Decided not to restart C25k at the moment and just do a run round the block for about 15-20 mins and see how I feel then maybe start C25k in a week or so

Lovely to hear from you Mimz. Make sure you give yourself enough time for a good warmup and cool down, however tempting is is to just get out there. It will help prevent any injuries and you don’t want one of them, especially as you are enjoying yourself so much :)

Mimz - the c25k would build you up slower than going and doing a 15-20min run.. i started off with 1min run/x min walk when i re-started with c25k last autumn.

In seeing this thread popup again it’s really shown me how well i’ve done, and how far I’ve progressed sticking to a very steady (sensible) increase. This last weekend I did a 13mile long run (my longest so far since injury) :-) Overall I’ve learned one very big lesson - do things slowly and listen to your body and you will get there. (This in itself is a massive achievement for me!)

Well, here I am again. Right back at the start.

W1R2 of C25K done, after a break of +6 odd years after injuring my back doing Hellrunner. A lot of life (&death) has happened since I was last on Fetch. Lovely to see some names I recognise in the forum threads. Starting over is soo hard! I've blown the dust off my fave Mizuno Wave Inspires which are over 10 years old, but found the lovely bouncy soles have turned to concrete! Am looking forward to popping into the running shop on Monday. But am not looking forward to the gait analysis on the treadmill in the shop window :(

So back to C25k again…completed my second run of week 2 yesterday and still feeling pretty good…feels so much better restarting than trying to do it myself like I did 12 months ago. We’ll see how it progresses 👍🏼

Thought I'd see if there was a C25K thread as I've started it (again).

Now on week 4 and - much to my surprise - am actually managing the five minutes running, albeit very slowly indeed.

Anyone else doing this at the moment?

I am kind of building up with a beginners running group. Been jeffing for so long I have forgotten how to run continuously.
