Pretty sure it was mentioned as they did the initial swoop of the event. I really enjoyed it, quite exciting to watch (and finally we find where Apollo shines :) ) Felt for Cyclone tripping over her own feet - been there, done that...

Glad both of the irritating married couple lost (for heaven's sake keep your gross tongue in your head. Or at least trip over and bite it off)

Looking at the episode count we've got a similar tournament situation like last year, so fastest runner-ups are going to be going through to QFs - disappointed by this, if you're beaten you should be out. Assume episodes 1-5 are heats, 6-8 are QFs (5 heat winners and fastest loser), 9-10 SFs (3 QF winners and fastest loser), then the final.

I think they briefly said “one step at a time” but I didn’t really register it as an important rule

To be honest, I'm surprised more wasn't made of Giant and Bionic tag-teaming Mus in the Atlaspheres, leaving the Welsh guy free and unmarked to do as he pleased.

Oh yeah, and Athena got to speak, made a nice change :)

It feels like the eliminator is over-powered in the game, especially with fastest losers. The winner isn't really related to how you compete against gladiators. You could fail to get a single point in the first two rounds and still make the semi-finals.

I'd make it one second per point and no fastest loser. That would make the performance against the gladiators more important.

That said, 65 seconds for the eliminator is a ridiculous time. I'd be happy just doing the cargo net in that time. I wonder what times the gladiators would get in the eliminator.

It's early days but no hang tough so far. Last year's contenders really struggled with it unlike those in the nineties who put up a decent effort. I hope that it hasn't been axed just because of that.

I think somebody sustained quite a nasty leg break during hang tough, don’t know if that’s anything to do with it

I wasn't aware of that. Then again, if that's as a result of two people falling from a height together with a fair combined weight, then The Edge shouldn't take place either.

I do think the edge looks like an injury waiting to happen, the amount of times a limb gets bent awkwardly on the hard edge before/as they fall. I know I’d get broken!
