Skeleton you steer with shifting the position of head and shoulders, luge but shoulders and calves. They're both nuts. |

Always felt those bobsleigh runs should feature a loop the loop element, they must have the speed for it. Possibly a jump across a double decker bus or two as well. Too safe atm…. |

I have been down one, in a sealed in version, here La Plagne, if memory serves me right we didn't quite hit 60mph. la-plagne.com |

I’ve done a taster session thing on a holiday in Kitzbühel thirty years ago. About a dozen of us in the group. Just one broken arm between us. The organisers considered this ‘about average’. Not sure it would be allowed now.

When we were in Canada last month, you could go on the 2010 Olympic Bobsleigh run at Whistler, with a professional driver and be one of the 2 passengers in the back. They reckoned top speed of about 125km/h. Bit over 100 quid.

Oh I forget the cost, a while back now, early 90s, I also did that stupid skiing/paragliding thing, that put the wind up me, that and the crash landing. I really liked hiking around Whistler. |
