I think we should also learn from Brady and Jose. They didn't put the race over helping someone, so we shouldn't put the race over our life. I guess its hard to know how much danger you're putting yourself in, but I hope SarahL and the rest of you agree that you wouldn't want how SarahL finished to be the norm. If you know you're in a really bad way, pull out! It may be hard but its really not worth the potential consequences. Live to race another day. Its one reason why I think people that criticise Paula for pulling out in 04 are stupid, continuing is not worth the danger she could have been putting herself in.

Jesus christ, Sarah. Wow. Those guys are saints. Look at the smiles on their faces! That takes quite somehting to give up the final couple of miles of a marathon you've trained months for to help someone else like that. Do you remember them at all? |

Gosh, scary pictures! Don't read the next bit, Sarah. Worth remembering, though, that we fall to the ground when we pass out for a reason, so if you hold someone upright like that when they're losing consciousness you're prolonging the time their brain isn't getting enough blood/oxygen etc....when blood pressure's low, lying flat is the way to get blood flow back to the brain. So if you do hold someone up, make sure they're talking the whole time! |

Nice 5.6 mile recovery run done with mrs a along the lake shore and back through Grant Park. Still humid but it would be a nice day for a marathon today
