I would suggest that so long as there is toast, with some format of cheese that could be interpreted as being 'on' the toast, then you have an entry.
But if you serve it on a piece of driftwood then there'll be mayhem...

Sourdough. Grated Cheddar mixed with chopped shallot, green chilli, tomato and fresh coriander. Press onto toast and grill.

To be pedantic, are these not toasted, or even roasted, cheese?
My variation would have grated cheese moistened with lager and mixed with diced onion or chopped syboes, then put onto part toasted and buttered bread and finished under the grill. Sophisticates might try using prosecco.
