I have found it extremely hard to avoid puppies and kittens for years. The idea that Lasya might like company is mine, not hers. She is happily an only cat and I keep saying I owe it to her from when I first got her. My decision, not hers although she did "force" herself on my by climbing onto me and settling into the crook of my elbow and purring and falling asleep there... She wasn't the prettiest in the litter but certainly the most assertive!

Cats are solitary and often happier on their own I think. It's lovely that Ellie & Caspar have retained a strong sibling bond, but they didn't exactly have the best start in life, living wild in a garden until they were eight weeks, so maybe it's something that comes from that.
Pablo and Lenin didn't have that bond at all, at least not from Pablo's side - he was far happier when Lenin died.

I actively sought out Peggý and was begging the rescue to find a kitty for me. I mean, for Kata.

Obviously, I cannot go to work. Peggý is holding my jumper hostage.

It's been about a month since Murphy (the dog) passed away, and we can safely say that Patricia has blossomed!
She's gone from being just "the cat" to being Top Banana, and is all the happier for it. So much more loving, communicative and social. I didn't realised how subdued and dare i say, unhappy she was being second billing.....
Miss my boy so much, but she's definitely bridging the gap left by him, way more than I would have thought.

Glad she's doing well.
Our two used to sleep together when they arrived and hid together for large chunks of time in the first month. Now they are settled they have much less to do with each other and have their own places within the house and garden. Sometimes we fret but then we think they are settled and both seem happy with the set up so this seems to be how they want to share their territory.
They are both fat more demanding of their humans though.

When one of our old cats died his brother blossomed. They got on fine but being a solo cat was the making of him. They were moggies.
