Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Can you stand guard at feeding time?
We have Polly, who is a reluctant eater, and Sid who is a walking garbage tin. Their wet food gets put down at the same time (if Polly bothers attending, otherwise just Sid's gets delivered), any attempts by Sid to eat Polly's, and we pick him up, put him back by his plate. Once he is done we put him in another room (he now is politer and sits a distance from the feeding station watching for Polly to give up) until Polly finishes. If Polly has had a decent helping, then Sid gets to clean the plate, otherwise we hide Polly's plate until she has had a second sitting.
Takes some time, but we now know Polly has had food.
They still have dry food to graze on overnight (it gets put away in daylight hours as we've caught other cats in the house - contemplating a microchip cat flap but the last one I tried didn't see Sid's microchip).

Oh I do but I'm returning to the office in a week :-(

We have the electronic timer bowls - when we have used them Dio appears to have eaten everything as his tummy is iffy next day and when we get home Ozzy is asking for food!

If Ozzy is a grazer then I think it is worth getting him a chip bowl. He can the eat whenever he wants without Dio scoffing the lot.
If he wasn't, you could feed them in separate rooms at the same time and only let them out once Ozzy has finished his.

Cheaper on Amazon (which means I can also justify getting books at the same time lol)

I thought that all cats were grazers. I've also known them not to like empty bowls. I had one cat that would demand there was food available but not always eat it once it was there.

Do you feed them side by side?

Could it be as simple as splitting them up.
Putting Ozzy’s in a safer spot (on a worktop maybe)
