Though when I originally posted it on FB after my holiday (a few years back), some people, like you beebop, though I was pulling their leg. There were a few cats around the park, but none seen quite as adventurous as this one. (I stayed right next to the park. Lovely, except perhaps for the cockerels, who crowed right across the road from me. The road at the top had a warning sign for peacocks.

The plants were big, with big thick leaves, ideal for a cat perch (if they avoid the spines!), Also iirc, terraced, making them look bigger. Imagine the top corner of a WSW grid, four wide, three high. Black cat is in D1 (top right). JK identified it correctly, you can see most of the shape: body with head to right-hand side and ears sticking up.
