it's THEIR house not ours
we are only there to supply food/water/clean litter and give attention when requested

Lasya goes under the duvet. She protests if I don't fold it over into a triangular cat cave after getting up! She is both on top and under it: very cosy!

Our cats aren't allowed in the bedrooms
well they were on the bed with me when I had covid and was isolating for a week!

I have an open plan house: she spurned her cat basked in favour of my bed within 24 hours of arriving as a teeny kitten! I had barricaded the stairs but she managed to break through and stood next to my head, on the pillow, purring proudly: new mum, I have found you! You will never sleep alone... I put her back down, then watched as she broke back in... And have let her ever since. After worrying I would flatten the tiny creature for a couple of nights, I soon realised I needn't worry as she pushed ME out of the double bed in stead!!!

When we got our two we told the kids that the cats would NOT be allowed in the bedroom overnight. Night one at 2 am Bib broke into Cedd's room. We got her out, pulled the door to as firmly as we could (doesn't quite open properly and we aren't planing it til Cedd gets a new carpet). 4 am Bib and Boba broke into Cedd's room and decided to hang out under his bed. Cedd got in with Mr LF I moved rooms as I wasn't letting my "baby" be left alone with those potentially dangerous animals.
Night two: all bedroom doors left open for cats to come and go freely.
Bib now tends to share my side of the bed. In summer Boba sleeps downstairs but in winter her shares with Cedd. If I wriggle too much or come up late Bib sleeps with Cuthbert.
