Just sat down to complete the post-race survey. Although I was very complimentary for the best part, I did find myself going off into a rant on the last page when answering; 'How could we help improve your experience' and the feedback section.
Naturally, I had a good whinge about the trains (closing Preston Park Station and lack of), the toilets (as always) and the ridiculously small kit bags. I don't know if such feedback is ever taken seriously or they need a good percentage of fellow moaners to get the idea. I completely forget to mention the spectators standing too far in the road at miles 14 and 18 but they're great bunch and that would be a bit harsh.
Sorry, I mustn't let my naff performance dampen what as always is a really enjoyable weekend.

I think I've found the reason for my performance last Sunday, which was an indirect reason of ensuring I got to the start line rather than a sheer lack of fitness. Lesson learned and I'll move on.

Signed up for 2017 at the Expo and have got my confirmation e-mail to pay the balance (albeit misspelling my name with two L's).
Did you spot yourself this morning on Channel 4's highlights programme? Thankfully, I didn't after also watching some on the +1 programme as well. Shame it's not in any sort of order and that the children and 10k runners don't get much coverage. Steve Edwards (as great a runner as he is) got a special bit for the second time in four years, yet the other runners covered were not shown beyond 11-12 miles. I presume they finished OK.

Caught up with the highlights show last night, I realised there are whole sections of the course I couldn't remember. Mainly early on when everything was feeling easy! Didn't spot Mrs Geo or me, but there were a few familiar people in fancy dress (the dog, and batman and robin) that we were nearby at halfway.

Hi Folks, hope you all had a great time at Brighton. I would like to enter the VLM ballot. Do you think there will still be places left for the Brighton 2017 mara if I (most likely) don't get into VLM?
Thanks!

Brighton posted on fb a couple of days ago there were less than 3000 out of 11000 places left since going on sale less than two weeks ago. Last year Brighton was "full" but they re-opened entries just after the London ballot rejections went out. That's when I entered, I think they went within a day.
I have already entered Brighton but will put my name in the London ballot as well, if I get in I'll have a decision to make.

Crikey! I think I'll take a risk and hope they will open up some spaces after the VLM ballot. Many thanks for the info

As Brighton and London are two weeks apart in 2017, I am looking to do both. Definitely doing Brighton but highly unlikely that I'll be in London as well.
As Stu said, the Brighton paid entry closure date is a few months before the London ballot winners are known. Last year, Brighton did reopen entries but they were a bit pricey. The decision if yours...

Ahem... I'm not sure I would be able to do two marathons in two weeks I'll still take a risk and if the worst comes to the worst I will aim for another race. Thanks SP
