I have an item on my Big To Do List - which is to cull books in a big big way. 50% possibly I have completely run out of space now for any new ones.

I don't like to get rid of any books (except really awful ones). Ideally I'd have a copy of every book I've ever read.

I have got rid rid of books that i'm unlikely to read again unless they have nice looking covers

I used to keep absolutely everything, and in some ways I wish that I still could, or at least that I'd kept a record of everything I've read. However, if I don't think I'm ever going to re-read a book, and it's in good enough condition to attract another buyer*, why not ship it off to a charity shop and let others benefit? I have a few thousand still...
*Different charity shops have different standards - I sort accordingly!

I was looking for a book yesterday that I know I used to own (though think it was my mother's originally) and couldn't find it so fear I must have got rid of it on some earlier occasion. That's the trouble with decluttering.

beebop - that's my system too: if I highly doubt I'm never going to re-read it goes to charity shop
(except Lolita, which I DNF'd and is going in the recycling)

Ten votes on the poll for Nod so far! Unfortunately they're all just to tick the red cross.
