Reading A Whole Life, which I am loving. It’s Stoner in the Alps.
Started listening to My Brilliant Friend this morning, not so sure this is my cup of tea. There was one statement about children and time that made me go “no, that’s not true at all.”

Phew. Thought you'd like A Whole Life. It's in translation as well, so mucho credit to the translator too.

Working my way slowly through The Wings of the Dove. It needs a high level of attention. Even with a high level of attention, I am still having to re-read some sentences two or three times.
I looked at the page where the "return by" dates are stamped. Some of them occur in clusters, presumably where the book's been renewed several times. And there are lapses of several years where nobody's borrowed it at all. This pattern does not surprise me.

Not liking the Texas Jack Reacher (Echo Burning) at all. He hasn't hit anyone for well over 100 pages.

I have just bagged a copy of Wise Children on eBay :-D I enjoyed Nights At The Circus and, although I did have The Magic Toyshop lined up as my next Angela Carter, I am happy to join in with this one...
